Description of shoe repair services:
Ladies
Ladies Heel: the rubber, composition, leather, or some other material that is the thin layer that touches the ground and goes on top of the heel.
1/2 Soles: are made of leather or rubber and are usually replacements from the original bottom of a ladies shoe. The bottom portion goes from the shank of the shoe to the toe and the back portion of the sole that extends to the heel is not included.
Full Soles & Heels: Leather: the replacement of the entire bottom (including the heels) with a leather material.
Protective Soles: are thin, high quality rubber soles that go on top of an existing sole. Protective soles provide much better traction and greater longevity for the bottom of the shoe.
Recover Heels: ladies heels often become damaged. Recovering a heel involves removing all old material and replacing with a new cover made of leather, patent leather, fabric, or some other material.
Toes Pieces: Rather than having to replace the entire sole, a small portion of the front of the sole is replaced with the same material as the original sole.
Metal Toe Dot: A small metal "dot" placed on the end of the toe, extending the life of the sole there. The metal toe dot is not visible from the top of the shoe..
Men's
Rubber Heel: come in various sizes and shapes. Longer lasting and less expensive than combination or leather heels. I always recommend rubber.
Leather Heel: Is a top lift that is all leather. Has very poor traction and wear qualities.
Combination Heel: is a top-lift that is made of leather in combination with a rubber back. The rubber on the back of the heel provides better traction and wear.
Heel Pad: Replacing the leather pad that covers 1/3 - 3/4 of the insole.
Reline Backs: Covering the inside of the heal counter with new leather.
Work Boot Heels: the rubber or leather portion of the bottom of the heel of a boot.

Casual Soles - Casual Soles
Full Soles & Heels: Full soles or heels replace the entire bottom of a person's shoe or boot.

Full Soles - Casual: The replacement of the entire bottom of a sports shoe similar to a Rockport or deck shoe with a soft flexible material usually of some rubber or composition variety.

Western Boots
Western Boots Heel: the rubber or leather portion on the bottom of a western boot.

Dyeing/Cleaning
Dye Fabric Shoes: fabric shoes may have their color changed preferable from lighter to darker. The dye is permanent will not wash out or bleed and can often be matched to a ladies dress, handbag, or some other item.
Dye Leather Shoes: New Color: the process of stripping the old color off a pair of leather shoes and then applying a dye that will change the shoes or boots to a new color.
Refinish Shoes or Boots: Same Color: the process of re-dyeing shoes or boots the same color.
Shampoo/Deodorize: shoes that are of a suede, buck, or similar material can be shampooed to remove dirt and stains and restore some of the original nap.
Misc Leather Work
Belt Shortening: belts that are too long can be shortened by your repairmen, usually from the buckle side so that the belt looks exactly the same.
Eyelets: This is the metal lined hole that shoe laces are put through but can also need replacement on handbags or luggage.
Handles: Replacing or repairing as needed
Minor Stitching: your repair shop has some heavy duty sewing machines that can put together almost any rip or tear.
New Tassels: tassels are often seen on men and women's loafers and golf shoes. Tassels have a terrible habit of falling off and can be replaced by your repairmen.
Snaps: a common item on many handbags, belts, and other items that often need replacement.
Plastic / Metal Plates: Plastic or metal plates are installed on heel and or toes to extend life. Warning! Metal will become sharp and could cut floors.
Shoe Shines: shining your shoes or boots provides a better appearance and gives the leather surface longer life.
Stretching Boots: shoes and boots can often be stretched as much as a full size in width. Stretching is most effective on leather shoes and boots. Additionally protective areas of shoes can be eased especially for problems such as bunions.

Dance Shoes
Install Dance Taps: Installing new taps on dance shoes. Always check to see if correct size is in packaging. This may save trip back to the store.
Swap Dance Taps: Taking taps off last years shoes and installing on new shoes. No need to buy new taps every year.
Tap Dance Stops: Rubber installed and trimmed behind toe taps to aid traction.
Ballet Dance Stops: Rubber installed & Trimmed on bottom and over toes to add traction and extend life of toes.
Sew on Ribbons & Elastic: Mark and measure elastic and sew on with ribbon
